Dressed in a saffron kurta, cricketer Ravindra Jadeja along with his wife Rivaba Jadeja attended a BJP event in Gujarat’s Jamnagar on Monday.


The BJP has given ticket to cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife from Jamnagar North, for which she will file her nomination later in the day. This programme was organised before the filing of nominations, in which other BJP leaders also took part.

Earlier on Sunday, cricketer Ravindra Jadeja shared his video on twitter, in which he has appealed to vote for his wife Rivaba Jadeja. He made this appeal to the people in Gujarati language.

Will Ravindra Jadeja’s sister contest against Rivaba from Congress?

Ravindra Jadeja’s sister Naina is the president of Mahila Congress in Jamnagar. In such a situation, it is being told in reports that Congress can declare Ravindra Jadeja’s sister as candidate opposite to Ravindra Jadeja’s wife. However, no information about this has been revealed by the Congress so far.

Rivaba Jadeja had joined BJP three years back

Rivaba Jadeja, wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, had joined BJP three years back. Prior to this, she has also been in the Karni Sena, an organisation of the Rajput community. She had joined the BJP before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Then she had reportedly sought a ticket from Jamnagar (North).

Significantly, elections for all 182 seats in the state assembly in Gujarat will be held in two phases on December 1 and December 5. Polling will be held in 89 seats in the first phase, while 93 seats will go to polls in the second phase. The counting of votes will take place on December 8.

The BJP has been in power in the state for the last 27 years and it is considered a BJP bastion. However, the Congress is also hoping to put its best electoral foot forward to oust the BJP government. The term of the present Gujarat Legislative Assembly ends on February 18, 2023.
