Sapna Choudhary's sister-in-law files complaint against her and family for assaulting, demanding dowry

Bigg Boss 11 contestant Sapna Choudhary and her family have entered a legal battle for allegedly demanding a dowry. Sapna’s sister-in-law, a resident of Palwal, has lodged a complaint against the Teri Aakhya Ka Yo Kajal dancer, her brother Karan and her mother-in-law Neelam for torturing and assaulting her for dowry.

The Palwal Police have filed an FIR against Sapna and her family on the basis of the former’s sister-in-law’s allegations.

The complainant said she got married to Karan, a resident of Delhi’s Najafgarh, in 2018. She said her family had given a huge quantity of gold and also organised the wedding at a hotel in Delhi which had then cost around Rs 42 lakh.

She further stated that her family also gave them Rs 3 lakh, silver and new clothes when she gave birth to her daughter but Sapna’s family kept asking for a Creta car. She alleged that when her family refused to give them a car, they started torturing her. She further alleged that her husband beat her in an inebriated condition and sexually assaulted her in May 2022.

She further claimed that about six months ago, she had returned to her father’s house in Palwal and lodged a complaint at a women’s police station there against her in-laws, but no arrests have been made in the case so far. DSP Satender said they have not made any arrests so far in the case as the matter is under investigation.

Earlier in November, the singer and dancer was accused of cheating as she did not perform at an event in 2018 for which she was paid by organisers in advance. The FIR was registered against Sapna at the Ashiyana Police Station in Lucknow after she failed to turn up for a dance show at Smriti Upwan in Lucknow on October 13 of that year.
