Selfiee Twitter review: Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi fail to match Prithviraj's Driving Licence
Raj Mehta directorial Selfiee starring Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty, and Nushrratt Bharuuccha hit the silver screen on Friday. Selfiee is the official Hindi remake of the blockbuster 2019 Malayalam film Driving License which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles.
The film created a hullabaloo on social media prior to its release after Kumar made a Guinness World Record for taking the most selfies (184) in under three minutes, during a promotional event.
Selfiee revolves around a superstar Vijay Kumar, played by Akshay Kumar, who needs a new driving license from the RTO office. The officer Om Prakash Agarwal, played by Emraan Hashmi, is a die heart fan of the celebrity. While Vijay needs a driving license for a car scene in a film, Om wants a harmless selfie with the star. This not-so-complicated story gets complicated followed by a misunderstanding which leads to a feud between them.
Vijay slams the officer and leaves him embarrassed after which his excitement to meet the star turns into anger. The film constantly chases the game of Khiladi and Anari and who is in the wrong and who will win unfolds in the second half of the movie.

On the other hand, Emraan Hashmi did not impress the audience with his cop avatar.

One user called the film a disaster and warned people not to waste their money as Driver Licence is 100 times better than Selfiee. Another user called the film dull and flat and the characters are total misfits.
