Shaakuntalam trailer: Samantha Ruth Prabhu looks stunning in the mythological drama, Allu Arha doesn't go unnoticed
The trailer of the most-awaited mythological drama Shaakuntalam starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan was released on Monday at a grand event in Hyderabad.
Helmed and written by Gunasekhar, the trailer was launched live in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

The film is based on internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play ‘Abhijnana Shakuntalam’ and will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam & Kannada. While Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen playing the lead role of Shakuntala, Malayalam actor Dev Mohan is playing Dushyanta. The film also stars Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Jisshu Sengupta, and others in important roles.
Another artist who caught the attention is Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha who can be seen as Prince Bharata riding on a lion.
The trailer takes through the whimsical tale of love and Samantha looks absolutely ethereal as Sakhuntala. It also gave a glimpse of King Dushyant and rishi Durvasa’s curse which led him to forget the love of his life.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently shared one of the challenges she faced while working on Shaakuntalam on social media. Sharing a video from a training session, she said the toughest part was maintaining grace and posture while walking, talking, running, and even crying.
Bankrolled by Neelima Guna, Shaakutalam will hit the theatres on February 27. Soon after the trailer release, fans reacted to it and hailed Samantha for her looks. One user wrote Gunasekhar did an impressive job with visuals and made Samantha look like the actual beauty. Another user thanked the director for the same.
