Shaheen Bagh demolition drive: Tejashwi Yadav says bulldozers are to distract people from unemployment, inflation
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has condemned the demolition drive that is taking place in Delhi and said that these days the discussion is only about bulldozers and loudspeakers but these are not the topics. It is just being done to distract people from real topics like unemployment and inflation.
He said that according to a report, in Delhi around 80-90 per cent of constructions are illegal then does that mean that the whole Delhi will be bulldozed. This is just to distract people.
Earlier, he also condemned the anti-encroachment drive in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri that was carried out two days after the communal clashes took place in that area. At that time, he said that even after the interference of the Supreme Court, an anti-encroachment drive was taking place in Jahangirpuri.
At that time, he even asked that China has entered inside India but no action is being taken on it whereas bulldozers are being run on the basis of religion. Yadav said if those in (Jahangirpuri) are illegal constructions, what were the government and administration doing till now.
He also shared a video of his father, Lalu Yadav, on Twitter, in which the RJD supremo was heard talking about loudspeaker row. Lalu Yadav said that if people want to read Hanuman Chalisa then they should go to the temple, what is the need of going to the mosque to do that.
On Monday, protests erupted in Shaheen Bagh to oppose the SDMC’s anti-encroachment drive as the bulldozers came into the area. During that time, protestors raised slogans against the SDMC and demanded that action should be taken. After this, the drive was halted and the Supreme Court was sated to hear the petition at 2 pm. In the hearing, the civic body said that no houses have been demolished.
