Shraddha murder case: Court remands Aaftab Poonawala to 13-day judicial custody
The Saket Court in Delhi has sent Aaftab Amin Poonawala, the accused of Shraddha Walkar murder, to judicial custody for 13 days.
Earlier Aftab was taken to Ambedkar Hospital. He was produced in a Delhi court through video conferencing from the hospital itself. Special CP Law and Order Sagarpreet Hooda, Delhi Police had appealed to the Magistrate that the production of the accused should be done from the hospital itself.
There is a new revelation in the Shraddha murder case. According to reports, accused Aftab had dated a doctor after Shraddha’s murder. He met this girl through the dating app Bumble and invited her to his house when Shraddha’s body parts were kept in the fridge. Delhi Police have identified that girl. She is a psychologist by profession. Aaftab and Shraddha had also met on the Bumble app.
Bones found in forest were of Shraddha
Important evidence has been found against Aaftab in the Shraddha murder case. According to reports, forensic investigation has revealed that the bones recovered from the forest belong to Shraddha. The DNA found in bones has matched with Shraddha’s father. Now the police are waiting for the reports. Special CP (Law and Order) Sagar Preet Hooda said that the DNA test report (of the victim’s parts) has not been received yet.
Here, Shraddha’s father Vikas Walker has demanded a CBI inquiry. During an interview with a news channel, he said – Aftab is still misleading the police and there should be a CBI inquiry into the matter. He kept blackmailing Shraddha continuously and kept threatening her. He used to tell Shraddha in clear words that he would kill her.
Aftab’s family also involved in the murder, Shraddha’s father alleges
Shraddha’s father has alleged that Aftab’s family is also involved in his daughter’s murder. Aaftab’s parents were aware of his antics. They knew that Aaftab used to fight with Shraddha. They should have informed me about this but nothing happened, he added.
Shraddha was murdered on May 18
According to the Delhi Police, 28-year-old Aaftab had murdered 27-year-old Shraddha on May 18. Both were in a live-in relationship. Aftab had cut Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces. Bought a 300 liter fridge to keep them. He used to go to the forest every night at 2 am for 18 days to throw the pieces of the dead body.
