Sidharth Malhotra all set to join Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, shares glimpse on social media
Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra is all set to enter Rohit Shetty’s cop Universe. Both successful Bollywood personalities will team up for their next untitled project which is set to release on Amazon Prime Videos. This will be Rohit’s first digital venture and the movie will also mark the first collaboration of the duo. The Shershaah actor is all set to begin the shoot for the untitled film tomorrow, March 10.
The actor took to social media and announced the commencement of his next project. Ever since this announcement was made, Sidharth’s fans have poured in good wishes. This series will be directed by debutant director Sushwanth Prakash. He has previously worked as the assistant director for Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale and Simbaa. This untitled film will be shot across Mumbai.
Reportedly, Sidharth and Rohit were in talks over a probable collaboration for a while now. And finally, things have fallen into place with this series. Although it’s a cop-based series, but the treatment and the tone are very different from what the audience have already witnessed in the digital world.
After the successful release of Sooryavanshi last year, director Rohit Shetty and his team have been working relentlessly on this script and are planning for further building the series. Moreover, considering the OTT platforms are filled with cop dramas, the makers wanted a different signature style to reflect in the cop caper. Rohit Shetty wants to present this series in a way that is appealing to a global audience.
Rohit Shetty’s last release Sooryavanshi earned gold at the box office, and also emerged as a massive success. Adding to the crossover between Singham and Simbaa, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgan had also featured in Sooryavanshi. Earlier, Ajay had shared that he and Rohit Shetty will be working on Singham 3 soon. Moreover, it is unclear whether Sidharth’s Amazon Prime Video project will also feature cameos from the other cops in Rohit’s universe.
