ICC awards: Suryakumar Yadav named ICC Men’s T20I cricketer of 2022
Indian players are soaring high in the ICC annual awards. The T20I Cricketer of the Year has been announced by the ICC on Wednesday, and this award has been bagged by Suryakumar Yadav. Suryakumar Yadav, who rocked the T20I format last year, has received this great honour.
Suryakumar Yadav has defeated Sam Curran of England, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe and Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan in this race. Suryakumar Yadav is also the number-1 batsman in T20I format, as well as now he has also become the Cricketer of the Year in T20 format.
Suryakumar Yadav was dominating the whole year
Talking about the year 2022, Suryakumar Yadav had scored 1,164 runs in 31 matches, which came at an average of around 47. During this, Suryakumar’s strike rate was 187.43. Which was more than any player. Suryakumar Yadav became the first Indian player to score 1,000 or more runs in T20 cricket in any one calendar year.
Suryakumar Yadav was the winner of 2022, during which he hit 68 sixes. This was the most number of sixes hit by any player in T20 format in a calendar year. In many matches, Surya single-handedly overturned the entire game for Team India.
