Seems like the problems for IPL five times champions is not ending anytime soon. Their in-form batter Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of IPL 2022. Reason behind his exist from the on-going tournament of Indian Premiere League is his left forearm muscle injury.
The official Twitter handle of IPL and Mumbai Indians, shared the news of Suryakumar’s exist. Yadav was injured during MI’s last to last match against Gujarat Titans on May 6, but the official confirmation of his exit was made during Mumbai Indians match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Suryakumar Yadav has been the only in-form batsman for Mumbai Indians this season. He has scored 303 runs including three half-centuries, in eight matches with the average of 43.26. Mumbai Indians have had the worst start in the history of IPL. They lost eight consecutive matches to register their first in IPL 2022.
In an official statement by Mumbai Indian, they wrote, “Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left forearm, and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team.” Suryakumar Yadav also posted a goodbye photo and promised to be back with a bang.
However, after winning two back-to-back matches, MI gave hopes to their fans, but last night’s match against KKR was a nightmare for Mumbai Indians fans. MI’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah gave his career best and bagged five wickets haul but still MI couldn’t live up to the expectation and lost the match to KKR with 52 runs.
While Mumbai Indians every hope to enter the play-off has ended but the team can surely affect the chances of other IPL teams to qualify in top four. MI just has four points in ten matches and even if they win every remaining match, the team will still not qualify for the play-offs.
