A video was doing rounds on the internet on Monday where some thieves could be seen stealing Lord Shiva’s serpent and Jaldhari from a Shiva temple. The whole incident was recorded on a CCTV camera of the temple. The thieves have not been identified yet.
Reports said that the incident took place at Manunia Mahadev temple of Manunia village under the Tal police station. The locals staged a protest after this incident and the businessman called a hartal in the Tal Nagar on Sunday. The Patidar Samaj of the city has submitted a memorandum to the SDM Manisha Vaske demanding the arrest of the thieves.
Sharing a video of this incident a Twitter user wrote that the thieves took away Lord Shiva’s serpent and Jaldhari. They were caught on CCTV of Shiv temple in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.
Interestingly, one social media user wrote that when the government would only concentrate on the development of Adanis (Gautam Adani) and Ambanis (Mukesh Ambani), the common people would only do these things.
The incident happened on the night of September 19 or September 20. A case was registered at Tal police station. Some people have allegedly manipulated and edited the CCTV footage of the thieves.
The police station in charge Nagesh Yadav has appealed the people to share the video as it was and not share doctored videos of this incident. A search was on to identify the thieves. He further said that the thieves would be arrested soon.
According to the local media reports, the three thieves entered the Shiva temple’s premises around 2 am and tried to break the lock of the donation box, but they failed to do so. After that, they smashed the main gate of the temple and took away the silver and gold used in the decoration of the Shivling.
