Tamil Nadu: At least 1 dead, several others injured after helium tank explodes in busy market area in Tiruchi
In a tragic incident, at least one dead and several others were injured after a helium tank exploded in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchi on Sunday. The visuals of the incident are recorded on the CCTV footage. The mishap occurred in the Kotai Vasal area.
In the video, a blast that occurred in a busy market area killed one person on the spot and injured several others, including a 13-year-old boy. The intensity of the blast was so high that it even destroyed the window panes of several vehicles.

The locals immediately informed the police and the officials reached the spot quickly. An ambulance also reached the site and carried the injured to the nearby hospital.
The deceased is identified as Maattu Ravi. Police officials are on the lookout for the balloon vendor whose helium tank exploded. The case has been registered by the Trichy Police and the investigations for the same are underway.
Earlier, a 19-year-old labourer who was pumping helium into balloons for a birthday party was killed when the cylinder exploded in Bengaluru. According to the reports, Dinesh was filling the balloons for a birthday party when the blast occurred. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
An investigating officer said the woman who was organizing the party had searched for them on the internet and booked them.
