A similar incident occurred in Bareilly a few months ago, when a milk vendor was sentenced to six months in prison and a Rs 1,000 fine for selling adulterated milk 20 years ago.

As per reports, Food and Drug Inspector Premchandra randomly collected a sample of mixed (buffalo and cow) milk after he failed to provide the license on May 2, 2000. A month later, it was found that the percentage of fat in the milk was 51 percent less than the prescribed limit.
