WhatsApp, Instagram down: Users unable to send, receive messages
The messaging service app WhatsApp is down for several users around the world. People are not able to send or receive messages or photos, potentially creating a lot of problems. The outage began shortly before 12:30 pm on Tuesday.
The number of people reporting WhatsApp outages has sharply increased, according to Downdetector, a company that measures online outages throughout the world. Approximately 25,800 people had expressed concern about WhatsApp outages as of 12:56 pm, as per Downdetector.
Downdetector also points out that 69 percent of users are facing issues with sending messages, 21 percent of users are facing server connection-related problems and around 9 percent of users are facing other unknown issues with the Meta-owned app.
According to a statement, Meta said, We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.

Some people are facing login issues on Instagram as well. Downdetector states that 65 percent of users are facing issues with a login on Instagram, 18 percent of users are facing server connection-related problems, and around 18 percent of users are facing other unknown issues with the Meta-owned app.
On the Downdetector live outage map, most metro cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Lucknow seem to be the hotspots.
