Pathaan ban row: Will stay positive, no matter what, says Shah Rukh Khan at 28th International Kolkata Film Festival
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, while taking part in the 28th International Kolkata Film Festival’s opening ceremony on Thursday, underlined that while social media use has increased due to negativity, people like him will not be affected and will instead continue to be positive.
He said that social media was often led by a particular narrowness of view that restricts human nature to its baser self, adding that negativity boosts social media usage.
Such endeavours encapsulate a collective narrative, which causes it to be polarising and damaging, said Shah Rukh Khan at the festival in Kolkata.

He was heard saying that people like him will remain optimistic no matter what the outside world does.
On Thursday night, the 28th International Kolkata Film Festival was also inaugurated by Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan.
Along with them, celebrities Mahesh Babu, Mamta Banerjee, Rani Mukerji, and cricketer Sourav Ganguly attended the spectacular inauguration event.
Shah Rukh Khan wore a black three-piece suit, while his ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ co-actor Rani Mukerji was dressed in a stunning black saree. Amitabh Bachchan, on the other hand, wore a blue suit to the event.
Film director, Mahesh Bhatt said that the lesson the children of India have learned from the West is to reject Western ideologies at these times of political instability. He added that this was not our goal as India exists to bring all ethnicities together. All Indians’ hearts must resound with Tagore’s words, Bhatt said.
The 28th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival, presented by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of West Bengal, is slated to take place between December 15 and December 22, 2022, in Kolkata, according to the official website.
In the meantime, SRK will next be seen with Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and filmmaker Siddharth Anand’s action thriller movie Pathaan.
The movie is scheduled to premiere on January 25, 2023.
