WPL 2O23: Kiara Advani kickstarts the opening ceremony of Women's Premier League
The opening ceremony of the first ever Women’s Premier League has been kickstarted at the DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai. Bollywood actor Kiara Advani set the stage on fire as she performed on her film songs as the first performer of the opening ceremony of 1st WPL.
This is a momentous time for the Indian cricket and Women’s cricket. Men’s Indian Premier League turned out to be a big success and is now termed as the most successful leagues in the world.
And now BCCI has taken a step ahead to take the women’s cricket forward. 5 team, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Uttar Pradesh Warriorz, Mumbai Indian and Gujarat Titans will fight to lift for WPL trophy.
Sports presenter Mandira Bedi drew curtains for the TATA Women’s Premier League’s inaugural season. Her words on women empowerment did bring goosbumps in the DY Patil stadium where the first match will be played between Mumbai Indian and Gujarat Titans.
The first actor who took over the stage was Kiara Advani. She started off by dancing on her film Govinda Naam Mera’s song Kya Baat Hai 2.0.
Later another Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon took over the stage and started her performance with a inspiring dance number on Badal Pe Paun Hain from SRK starrer Chak De India.
The most awaited performance from the TATA WPL 2023 opening ceremony is of Punjabi Singer AP Dhillon’s. And the 30-year-old singer did live up to the expectations and entertained the audience in the stadium. The young crowd present at the DY Patil stadium was seen dancing to his tunes.
WPL is also special because the entry of women in the Women’s Premier League is absolutely free. There will be a ticket but no payment will have to be made for it. Yes ladies have to register their seat by going to book my show. The ticket price for men is Rs.100.
