The Railway Men: Late Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan make his Bollywood debut with YRF’s maiden OTT project
In the age of OTT platforms, the country’s biggest production house Yash Raj Films also decided to step into the OTT industry. Aditya Chopra’s YRF on December 2 announced its first-ever OTT project ‘The Railway Men,’ a web series based on the tragic event of Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
This series will be a tribute to the unsung heroes of Bhopal Gas Tragedy in 1984. Late Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan is also making his debut with this series, along with Babil, R Madhavan, Kaya Kay Menon and Mirzapur fame Divyendu will also star in The Railway Men.
The Railway Men’ is the first of many projects by the country’s leading production house YRF. Directed by Shiv Rawail ‘The Railway Men’ will start streaming from December 2, 2022.
Exactly 37 years ago on December 2 1984, methyl isocyanate gas leaked from a pesticide factory owned by the American Union Carbide Corporation in Bhopal. It has been reported that more than a million lives were poisoned that night and more than 5000 people died due to the gas leak.

Yash Raj films senior vice president Akshaye Widhani said that the Bhopal Gas Tragedy is the world’s worst industrial disaster that impacted scores of people since the tragedy struck the city 37 years ago. He said that YEF is trying its best to portray the unsung heroes of the gas tragedy and it will be a tribute to them who, despite saving thousands of lives on that fateful day, are still unknown to people across the world.
The filming of the series started on December 1 this year and it will star some of the known faces of OTT platforms like R Madhvan, Kay Kay Menon and Divyendu Sharma aka Munna Bhaiya from Mirzapur.
